Proposed Strategic Cooperation Initiative with the Musée du quai Branly
EFIACH is exploring a potential framework for cooperation with the Musée du quai Branly — Jacques Chirac, one of France's foremost institutions dedicated to the arts and civilisations of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. This proposed initiative would focus on joint exhibitions, research collaboration and the promotion of UAE intangible cultural heritage in France.
Objectives
The proposed cooperation would aim to: create a framework for joint exhibitions presenting UAE cultural heritage in France; develop collaborative research programmes between UAE and French cultural institutions; promote UAE intangible cultural heritage through the museum's international networks; and explore opportunities for reciprocal cultural exchanges.
Proposed activities
Proposed activities may include: joint curatorial projects; academic symposia on UAE and French cultural heritage; researcher and curator exchanges; shared digital documentation initiatives; and collaborative publications.
Cultural institutions, researchers, academics, artists and heritage professionals in the UAE and France.
United Arab Emirates and France, with potential for broader international reach through the museum's global networks.
Cultural value
This initiative would contribute to the international visibility of UAE cultural heritage, strengthen Emirati-French institutional ties, and create new pathways for cultural dialogue between the two nations.
This initiative is currently at the exploration stage. No formal agreement has been concluded. Details, scope and partners may evolve as discussions progress.
